THE CHALLENGER 4: The Prequel
This story takes place right after "The Challenger 3:Urban Outlaw." This Challenger story is based off a cancelled Challenger film written by Andrew Di Pardo & Aramis Pacitto tittled "The Challenger: Retribution." Now onto the story.
THE STORY:
The room is pitch black. Nothing can be seen. the sound of sirens are heard. Five cops enter the room with flashlights screaming "Freeze! LAPD!." A cop shines his light onto the mafia don, Antonio Ricci Junior. Ricci turns away. Another cop shines a light onto a man tied to a chair, a man named Richard Sledge. The cops, untie Sledge and put Ricci in cuffs. Captain Mora enters and and sees Ricci, he smiles proudly. "We finally caught you," Mora says. 10 minutes pass Ricci is thrown into the back of a LAPD car. The man in the car starts the engine, looks up and smiles, it's Lucas Wolf. He puts the car in drive and drives off. Ricci's wonders who this man is. "Are you a cop?" Ricci asks. Wolf looks into his mirror. " No I am not," wolf says. " But we do have a mutual interest. I want Sledge dead and so do you."
"I'm done with team ups if thats what you're implying," Ricci says. " I've already been crossed once. It's not gonna happen again. So where are you taking me?" Wolf smiles. "That all depends on if you'll do what I want," Wolf said. Meanwhile, Rick Sledge is at the LAPD, he's talking to Mora. Sledge explains to Mora that Ricci kidnapped him because he thought that he was The Challenger. Sledge wants to leave, his mothers body was just recovered and he wants to go pay his respects. Mora understands and lets him go. Back in the stolen police car Wolf explains to Ricci that if he wants to live, he must recover the crate with the melted gold that's in Sledge's possession. Ricci agrees to get the crate, but he doesn't want to work any further than that with Wolf. Wolf says its fine, but he must get the crate. Wolf has a connection at the LAPD that could help keep people away from "Ricci's restaurant," so Ricci can continue to use it as his place of operation.
Later that night, Walker is walking done the street when all of a sudden the Lawman appears behind him pointing a shot gun to his back. "Walker! The law find you guilty of MASS murder, bribery and corruption… Do you confess to your crimes?" The Lawman pulls out a voice recorder. Walker laughs. "Go ahead… Kill me. I will die before I tell you anything," Walker says. The Lawman than replies: "Then your sentence is death!" Walker looks over his shoulder and as fast as light grabs the shotgun and pulls it upwards and it hits The LawMan in the face and he falls. Walker is now holding the gun… He smiles. "Death it is," Walker says while smiling. A gun shot is heard… Walker looks to his left and The Challenger charges at him and tackles him to the ground. The Challenger punches Walker in the jaw and knocks him out cold.
"What are you doing, going after top of the line thugs like him… You have no experience as far as I can tell… Rule number 1, you never give the criminal a choice to live or die. That's fighting the current," The Challenger says. The Lawman replies:"I guess that’s what separates you from me… I don’t mess around with people’s lives… Everyone deserves a second chance."
The Lawman wonders what The Challenger is going to do with Walker. The Challenger tells him to stay out of it as he walks away. A few hours have passed, Walker wakes up and realizes that he's tied to a chair in a place that looks familiar. Its refereed to by Sledge & Gunnerson as "The cellar." The Challenger enters, Walker laughs. He reassures Sledge that he's not trying to kill him anymore, but Sledge feels that he's unpredictable and needs to stay in a place where he can be contained.
It comes to Walker & Sledge's attention that they both are after Ricci, and it might be a good idea to team up. They become partners. " Once this is over Walker, I'm coming for you," The Challenger says. Walker couldn't see it any other way. Walker asks Sledge what happened to Gunnerson. "He's been under some pressure, so he's taking a week leave of absence from the force," Sledge says. The next day, Gunnerson's at home watching TV. A news report shows that Ricci is back at his lair and it's been heavily guarded by 7 guards. The cops can't get passed.. "This could be a way to lure "The Challenger" out into the open," The reporter says. Gunnerson gets up in anger and walks out of the room. It's now sunset, Walker and The Challenger pull up about a block away from "Ricci's restaurant" in a 1973 Dodge Charger.
They get out of the car, The Challenger has a sniper rifle and Walker has a Assault rifle. The Challenger head onto separate roofs. The Challenger aims and takes out 3 guards. Walker shoots two other guards in the chest. The last two guards are Enzo and Baily. The Challenger gets off the roof. He sneeks up from behind Enzo and throws him into the brick wall head first. He's out cold. Walker shoots Baily in the chest. He's dead. The Challenger enters the back door of the restaurant, Sniper slung over his back and his gun in hand. Meanwhile, Ricci is drinking his whisky in his lair, waiting for Sledge. The Challenger appears out of the darkness from behind. He picks Ricci up off the chair and slams him into the wall.
The challenger draws his weapon and points it at Ricci's back.
"I warned you enough times to stay on the straight and narrow… It’s the end of the road Ricci! No more chances. The law can only be stepped on so many times before its ground to dirt," The Challenger says in anger.
A gun shot is heard… The Challenger is shot in the arm. He falls to the ground. It's the LawMan. Ricci laughs and draws his weapon. "Whoever you are I must thank you. You have given me the chance to finally put “The Challenger” to rest," Ricci says. The LawMan disagrees. " No Ricci, You're going back to prison. Drop your weapon ricci, It's over." Ricci Smiles. "I could do that or I could," Ricci says as he shoots the Lawman in the shoulder. Lawman falls. Ricci looks back to where The Challenger was and he’s gone. "Ah yes… The disappearing act. Well when he comes back I’ll be ready," Ricci says. The Challenger fires at Ricci and hits him in the knee cap. Ricci falls in pain. The Challenger walks up to him. Ricci challenges him to kill him in cold blood,if he has the guts. The LawMan stands up and tells him not to do it because The Challenger is not a killer.
"You have a choice. And that's all that matters… Make the right one," LawMan says. Walker laughs as he comes out of the darkness. "You’re going to listen to this nut in a mask? Come on Sledge… Ricci’s done the whole city in with his drugs, corruption and gang-wars… He's killed your father and your mother. Return the favour…
Don’t you see it SLEDGE? We are alike," Walker says. Sledge thinks about his dead girlfriend, Brookylyn Astor and if this is what she would have wanted. "No… No! I seek Justice… Not revenge," Challenger says.Walker draws his gun and walks up to THE LAWMAN and points it straight at his head. He threatens to kill him. The Lawman kicks Walker in the kneecap and then he punches him in the head. Walker falls, the Lawman takes Walkers weapon and points it at him.
"You're going back to prison just like Ricci right Sledge?" LawMan asks. Sledge agrees and puts Ricci in cuffs."I have some sources on the inside that could get these two jokers locked up for life," LawMan says. Later that night, Ricci wears a orange prison uniform as he enters his cell. The cops bring Walker into a police car in cuffs. The Car never made it to prison and it was later found on the side of the road with the cop knocked out and Walker no where to be seen. Walkers still out there and so is Lucas Wolf.
